Waht is a strap?

For sports where the athletes use a helmet we also offer mouthguards with a strap. This strap is fitted to the visor, i.e. if you take off the helmet the mouthguard is automatically taken out also. So the strap provides additional security and comfort.

THE ADVANTAGES OF SHIELD MOUTHGUARDS

SHILED mouthguards protect the teeth from breaking out or being dammaged in all kinds of sports where there is risk of traumatic impact, such as Hockey, Martial Arts, Boxing, American Football, Rugby, Handball, Squash etc.
A mouthguard is worn on the upper gum so as to cover the upper row of teeth. Protective abilities are reached through the fact that impact of upper and lower row of teeth is prevented. Moreover, the splinting together of the upper teeth serves to distribute the punctual force of an impact on to the whole area of the upper gum and thus minimizes strain. This way, Shield mouthguards effectively prevent broken out and dammaged teeth. Due to anatomical reasons also the lower gum is effectively protected.

For heavy strain SHIELD Sports also developed multi-layer mouthguards which consist of different layers (outside robust, inside soft). SHIEld mouthguards are also well known for their exact fitting accuracy, best wearing comfort and also easy individual fitting. They provide stress-free breathing and speaking after only a short period of familiarization.

Shield mouthguards are devided into two classes:
1. for children – suitable until the age of ca. 10 years
2. for adults – can also be used by older children beyond the age of 10 years

If teeth and jaws are still growing we recommend a new fitting of mouthguards minimum every 3 months!
